The Magpies will fork out the cash after a panel ruled in favour of Keegan after he walked out of his job last year.
The club refused to comment ... as Ashley was made to look the fool everyone at St James' Park knew he was right from the beginning.
A man who only once made a statement to the fans in all of his time at the club ... and word for word it was a pack of lies!
"I have never been a Spurs fan, I hate them!" said the Fat Controller.
Then it came out he had a box at White Hart Lane for years!
One of a string of lies. The best probably being "Kevin Keegan was always my number one choice", then Harry Redknapp said: "He offered me the job last week!"
Keegan walked out after he was forced to sign the player despite only having seen him on YouTube.
Public statements from St James’s Park that Keegan was in control were also labelled as “an exercise in public relations”.
On several occasions Denise Wise made public statements in which he assured the fans that Keegan was firmly in charge. But the panel refuted those claims.
Former Toon defendere John Anderson: “This whole affair could have cost the club an awful lot more .
“We need a little bit of stability and we need better communication coming from the club.
“Through this whole thing nothing has been said by the club and the public relations have not been great.”
Former Toon skipper, Bobby Moncur sat on the fence, not wanting to break his ties with Ashley: “To be honest I’m not that bothered about the whole thing right now – I’m more interested in what’s going on with the club and that should be everyone’s priority.
“The feud between the owners and Kevin Keegan is not important, whatever was going to be was going to be.
“It’s important that the club are getting the results on the pitch and everything else is just secondary.”
Barry Moat has made it known he would make his move AFTER the Keegan hearing was concluded.
So we wait to see if he has the clout to back his words.
Or is he like the other jokers who made bids to seek publicity?
Over to you Mr Moat.
