United know they won’t be facing former boss Alan Pardew this evening with West Brom confirming Megsonm will be in charge for at least another game.
Pardew was interviewed for the post last week and is desperate to get back into management.
When asked if the uncertainty is something that can end up favouring Newcastle, Benitez said: “Maybe, maybe not.
“After the game we will know for sure.
“Hopefully I can say yes it was an advantage but you can never tell.
“Their players did well against Tottenham and they know there is an opportunity for them at home to Newcastle because we are close in table.”
