For all the all the stick coming Carver’s way on social media and from pundits, he said he won’t be walking away any time soon. He said: “(The criticism) doesn’t disappoint me because people are entitled to do that.
"I’ve said that from day one. I haven’t come across any of my family who have boycotted the game but if they wanted to, it’s their opinion.
“They pay their money and can do what they want. As far as I’m concerned people can do what they want to do but I am pleading, please, please get behind the team.
“Get behind the team and support us. Do what you need to do when you need to do it.
“But for the rest of the time get behind the team.
“I don’t think it will be venomous. They are making their point and I can understand that they have to make their point and have an opinion.
“But I think they also realise that we need three points and they need to get behind the team. We want to be playing Premier League football – that’s the top and bottom of it.
“It happens when you are winning too. You are never going to please everybody. There will be spells and times when people are having a go at you.
"We’ve just got to deal with us and try not to let it affect us. The only way you can do that by winning.”
“We need to win a game of football, it is so important for everybody. It might lift the gloomy situation over the city at the moment. We know it affects everybody.
"It affects everybody when they go to work – you go to work and you are in a better mood, whatever business you are in. We need to give everybody a lift.
“This is a bad time at the moment. I can’t wait for a good time because I am really going to enjoy myself. I have had everything go against me.
“When you have faith in what you can do and in your own ability, nothing fazes you. It has been hard to pick myself up. If I didn’t pick myself up it would be a waste of time.
“If I wasn’t going to give up and I felt I couldn’t do it, I’d walk away. But that’s not the case.”
