Cushing arrived from Norwich City and has been part of the scenery at St James' Park for years, and was thrust to the front of business during the reign of Sir John Hall and Freddy Fletcher.We never found out who dropped the bollock when Lee Bowyer was not registered as a Newcastle United player when the form was sent to UEFA some years ago and the former Leeds United midfielder had to miss SIX European matches ... but Newcastle refused to rule out Cushing when we asked the question.
They didn't say it WAS him, so we are not in a position to point the finger.
