Siem de Jong: “I feel good – I’ve trained hard.
“I’m glad to be playing, and hopefully I can improve my game here. The Premier League is a big challenge.
“I want to improve and help the team. Hopefully, I can do that. I was glad that I played a couple of games in pre-season and got to know the team. Everybody knew who I was and what I did.
“When I was injured, it was really frustrating. I missed the first game. City at home was a nice game, and I wanted to play.
“I think you saw in the friendly games that we still have to adapt to each other a little bit and get to know each other a little better.
“Friendly games are different to the Premier League, of course. But there are players who can score.
“Everybody wants to score – especially the attacking players.
“We shouldn’t worry about that too much. Manu (Riviere) and Cabella are also new, and also need a little bit of time.
“It’s always a little difficult at the start of the season when you fit in new players. You have to get used to each other – hopefully, we can get better in the coming weeks.”
