Portugal's Brazilian-born playmaker has been linked with Chelsea and Inter Milan, and reports from Spain say Newcastle do not interest him.
The Blues' new manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, is coaching Deco at the Euro 2008 and, despite claiming not to have spoken with the player about moving to London, Deco is said to be "enthusiastic" about the prospect of playing in the Premiership for his international boss.
Inter, however, recently appointed Deco's former Porto team boss Jose Mourinho as their new coach. A manager he has great respect for.
Guardiola also suggested that Thierry Henry, another player linked with a move to St James's Park, would be part of his first-choice front three next season.
