Defeatest Attitude Before A Ball Is Kicked!

We have had it many times at Newcastle.

You have to look at Albert Luque and Celestine Babayaro who both said in the summer they would not leave the club for less wages than they were earning at the Toon ... even if it meant not playing football for two years.

But I have to say I was staggered when Liverpool's Jamie Carragher said today he believes crashing out of the Champions League would not be a disaster for the club.

The Reds need to beat Besiktas at Anfield tonight in a make-or-break Group A match to have any realistic chance of reaching the last 16.

Carragher knows Liverpool must not only win this one, but that victories against Porto and Marseille in the final group matches are also imperative.

He said: "We are not worrying too much about what happens if we do not qualify, and I don't even see that as a disaster.

"It's just football, but if we don't get through we could qualify for the UEFA Cup and we would be confident going into that.

"If it happens we have to get on with it. It would be a disappointment, not a disaster."
