Perhaps Newcastle could have done more pre-match, as one fan suggests: "Bring the advertising hoardings in to stop his run up or employ someone standing right on the touchline so that his follow-through is impeded".

The only thing wrong with his throws are that they take about 30 seconds after he has cleaned the ball. Surely a throw in shouldn't take that long. If he plays a full game they must waste about 6 minutes every game!

Didn't West Ham do something with the advertising boards to try and stop it?

It was mentioned on the radio commentary yesterday. Teams only put the advertising boards on the side where the TV cameras will pick them up. They need to be all around the pitch when playing Stoke.

I thought we had done that when we played them the other season?
Boards close up and nee gaps by the goal area...
Someone slipped up I think this time.

Dont do anything to stop him ...thats stokes weapon ...its up to teams to deal with it. I agree about the time he takes drying the ball though. If i was a ref id allow him 2 goes and yellow card him after that for time wasting. If hes gonna take a throw take the throw whether the balls wet or not.

I think they should be commended for the way they play. The bottom line is Pulis is getting the absolute best out of the resources available to him. Everyone knows exactly how they are going to play and yet few teams can do very much about it. If we had a player who could deliver throw ins like that, we'd love him and encourage it at every opportunity.

We just have to deal with it, delap had eight assists last season, no different to someone with a good dead ball.

Didn't West Ham do something with the advertising boards to try and stop it? Yes it was pathetic, Rory just stepped back & kicked the temporary boards over. In actual fact it's pointless as he doesn't need a run up to rifle one into the box. With a decent run up & a nice dry ball he can put one into the box from the halfway line. You've got to admit It's an awesome weapon when you have Jones, Shawcross & Huth waiting in the box. Don't worry too much about the time wasting aspect of it all, the ref's add it all on at the end when we are often under the cosh away from home.

Its over hyped in my opinion. Its no better than a free kick being delivered from a dangerous position, fecking deal with it ...........................
