What is the Diriyah Season?
The Diriyah Season is a collective celebration of sport and art which started in 2021 and will take place every year. It has previously featured a boxing heavyweight title bout between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz, tennis tournaments and Formula E, along with live music performances from global artists such as Usher, Pitbull and David Guetta.
Al Hilal are the most decorated club in Asia having won 65 official titles in their time. They are the club that tried to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in September 2022, but to no avail.
As was always to be expected with Newcastle United's new ownership, the club is spending a week in Saudi Arabia for a warm-weather training camp. The team are based in Riyadh and the camp is in partnership with Saudi Arabia's national airline.
When does Al Hilal vs Newcastle United take place?
Al Hilal vs Newcastle United is going to take place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, December 8. Kick-off is at 20:00 local time, making it a 17:00 GMT kick-off.
Newcastle will follow the game against Al Hilal with a match against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano on December 17. The Magpies are then back in competitive action on December 21 as they take on Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup at St James' Park.
