In an online poll we asked if you supported the campaign to erect the 9ft structure outside of the ground.
Results showed that 90% of you wanted to see the artwork, while 10% disagreed.
The Chronicle launched the vote on Wednesday when we revealed artist Tom Maley - who had been commissioned to produce the artwork around eight years ago before plans were put on hold - hoped to revive the project.
Ex-Magpie chief Freddy Shepherd commissioned local artist Tom to produce the artwork before he left the club.
Fans expected the 9ft structure to be erected outside the ground alongside the statue of Jackie Milburn, but the project never materialised.
The sculptor, of Morpeth, Northumberland, said: “The pieces are done but it hasn’t been cast in bronze.
“The models are just in the workshop at the minute and I’m trying to resurrect the project.
“I’m speaking to NUFC Fans United and I plan to get in touch with the club this week.”
