Nile Ranger: “There have been quite a few loyal supporters who have been backing me and giving me and the rest of the squad support.
“So I have to give a shout out to all of them. It is always good to pay them back.
“Some see me and think ‘why is he getting a chance here – he does not deserve it’.
“Obviously, though I have to redeem myself and take my chance.
“I just told myself I am a professional footballer.
“I could not do what I was doing any more.
“If you do everything right and you train well then you cannot be ignored.
“The gaffer has acknowledged the fact I have been coming in on time and done things right. He has rewarded me.
“He told me he was watching me but not to take anything for granted. He wants me to keep up the good work.
“There is still a lot to learn. I don’t know it all – I am only 21.
“I know I must do extra training, get my head down and watch others and be involved in the first team.
“I have not played for long time and never in the Europa League.
“I have not featured and I have been injured, so it wass good to come back into such a big game.
“It is always good to play in a competition like the Europa League.
“The gaffer has been watching the youngsters.
“He felt we should go out and take our chance.
“We lost, but I think we put in a good effort out there.
“It has been tough for me.
“I have been out of the first-team for a while at Newcastle.
“It is always the best thing to play for your parent club and Newcastle are a massive club so it was good to get back.
“I can learn a lot from the senior players as well.
“I thought my future was going to be somewhere else.
“It has not been the case. There is always another chance to turn a new leaf.”
