The Italian has been linked with the job, alongside the likes of former Norwich captain Malky Mackay and Celtic boss Neil Lennon, and told Sky Sports he was looking to get back into management six months after quitting Watford.
Gianfranco Zola: "It's a possibility. Norwich is a very good club.
"I like the way it's structured, so we'll see how it goes. I'm looking for a team, so hopefully it will come.
"It's been a few months out, and now I'm ready to start again.
"Obviously I would love to manage a Premier League side, and I am open to offers.
"I believe I could be a success in that league, and that is my ambition."
STOP PRESS
Norwich have appointed Neil Adams as their manager on a permanent basis.
Adams took over from the sacked Chris Hughton for the final five games of the Premier League season but could not save the Canaries from relegation.
Indeed the only point they picked up came in a goalless draw at Chelsea.
However, despite that record, Adams has been handed a three-year deal as the club prepares for next season in the Sky Bet Championship.
Adams told the club's official website: “It is a huge honour and I am immensely proud to be confirmed as the Club's manager going forward, and work starts straight away on putting into place the necessary requirements for next season.
“The priority is to ensure that attacking, attractive and winning football is once again the norm for supporters of this club, and it is essential that we now have everyone pulling in the same direction for the challenges that lie ahead.
"I thank the board of directors for giving me this opportunity as well as the amazing support that I and the team received from the fans during the last five games of last season and also in the time since, and I can assure everyone that we will all be working as hard as possible to achieve our objective of returning this club back to where it belongs.”
Neil Lennon had been heavily linked with the job after quitting his role at Celtic earlier on Thursday, while ex-Cardiff boss Malky Mackay had been the bookies' favourite.
However, just hours later came Norwich's announcement in which they said "a number of candidates" had been considered during "a very thorough selection process".
Chief executive David McNally said: “Neil impressed us when he stepped up to the plate for the last five games of the season in the most trying of circumstances and he’s continued to impress us during a very rigorous round of talks about the full-time managerial position. He is a very talented coach who is hungry to succeed at Norwich City, playing the kind of football we want to see.
"The club is in a strong position off the pitch, with no external debt and capacity crowds expected at Carrow Road yet again next season. We have the nucleus of an excellent squad and Neil will be given funds to refresh and strengthen the squad where required.
"It’s now time for everyone connected with the club to give their full support to Neil as we focus on the future of this great club and prepare for the vital weeks and months ahead.”
Adams made 206 appearances for Norwich as a player and had been coaching their academy.
He also played for Stoke, Everton - where he was part of their title-winning squad of 1986/87 - and Oldham.
