Paul Dummett has explained to the Chronicle that Newcastle United were forced to learn a tough lesson following their draw with Aston Villa at the weekend.
Despite dominating much of the game at Villa Park, Rafael Benitez's side were forced to settle for just one point after Aaron Tshibola cancelled out Tommy Elphick's own goal with just two minutes to go.
"It's a lesson for us. When we get chances we need to take them and put the game to bed," he told the Chronicle.
"It's two points dropped, but we have to stay positive as there is another game on Wednesday.
"We can't be too down about the result, we need to take the positives and move on to Norwich."
