Dyer impressed with a 45-minute cameo against Juventus, but Sam says he was only on the field "because we were short of numbers". The club confirmed last week that he would be allowed to leave due to personal reasons and nothing has - or will - change.
Sam Allardyce: "We used him for 45 minutes because we were short of numbers.
"He played very well. But I don't think we can (keep him) for the reasons I gave on Thursday.
"The only way I can see to resolve this is for Kieron to move closer to his family.
"Nobody has come in with the right money yet. Nobody has offered anything like the money we want.
"If they don't come in (with the right offer) then all I can do is sit down with Kieron and see if there's something else we can do."
And that can only suggest a year-long lone deal with a deal to buy should he last out the season, like the move that took Nicky Butt to Birmingham.
Brum were set to sign the ex-Manchester United midfielder, but there was an added clause that should they get relegated from the Premiership (which is exactly what happened) Butt would return to St James' Park.
A loan deal is far from ideal for Allardyce, he needs the money to stengthen his squad, but he has made it plain he does not want a player desperate to get away.
