Dyer Out 'Til Christmas?
Kieron Dyer signed a deal that sees him pick up £90,000 a week ... and we haven't seen him in action since! And Newcastle boss Graeme Souness has admitted he does not know how long the England midfielder will be sidelined by a hamstring problem amid fears he could be out until Christmas.
Graeme Souness: "Nobody can put a time on it. I don't know where talk of Christmas has come from. Christmas has never been mentioned by anyone at the club.
"All we are concerned with is getting Kieron fit again as soon as we can, and getting him back on the pitch playing for Newcastle.
"It's a concern. He's got a problem with both hamstrings and he's now feeling another part of his hamstring, higher up on his backside. He'll be very frustrated by the situation; he loves playing football - that's why he does it so well - and it will be hurting him at this time.
"He sees we have bought good players and he wants to be on the pitch with them. I want to get him on the pitch because he's one of our door-openers."
Dyer has been plagued by injuries for much of his six years at St James' Park following a £6million move from Ipswich during the summer of 1999.
