The young strikers will be back on the bench at Elland Road on Saturday, but Dyer claims that won’t always be the case.
"They haven't given the manager any headaches by moaning the whole time about not playing," he told The Journal.
"They're not stupid, they know Alan Shearer and Craig Bellamy are one of the best partnerships in the Premiership, if not the best. They're still young and they're learning from two top quality strikers. They've got time on their side.
"If they were 28 it would be a different story as they'd want to be playing first-team football the whole time and they'd want to leave.
"But they know Alan Shearer cannot go on forever. We all hope he can go on for another two, three, even four seasons, but only Alan will know when to call it a day. I hope it isn't anytime soon, but we do know we've got Shola and Lomana to come in."
