Dyer's Chance To Impress Wenger?

Dyer is one of three Toon "big earners" who have taken flak from Glenn Roeder of late for underperforming, and although the midfielder/striker has laid low and not made any waves, he has a lot to prove should he get the call against Arsenal.

Not only to Roeder, but the Arsenal manager has long been a fan of the England international, and now Dyer is back to full fitness Wenger could be about to see him at his very best.

The ex-Ipswich player is back in the international squad, and that is where he wants to stay. The jolt of not being an automatic choice has suddenly hit him hard, and that can go one of two ways.

Newcastle captain Scott Parker is a major doubt for the visit of the Gunners,
after picking up an ankle injury in the 56th minute of Saturday's 2-1 victory at Sheffield United and Emre, who replaced him at Bramall Lane, is in line to start should Parker not be passed fit.

Arsenal will bring midfielder Denilson back in the squad for Monday's Barclays Premiership trip to Newcastle. The young Brazilian was rested for the defeat by West Ham on Saturday, but manager Arsene Wenger may freshen things up at St James' Park following three straight league defeats.

He said: "We need some fresh legs at Newcastle, and so we will see what happens."

Captain Thierry Henry, forward Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott are all sidelined for the remainder of the season through long-term injury.
