Newcastle had hoped to complete the signing of the £3.5m Toulouse right- back Albin Ebondo but one report claims the deal will only be an "option" on the player after a six month loan spell.

All will be confirmed tomorrow, I'm sure.

And we believ Newcastle have made an improved offer for a midfielder, believed to be Stéphane Mbia of Rennes.

If things proceed according to plan the 24-year-old Ebondo could make his debut at City.
