The legendary striker took charge of Newcastle United in the 2008/09 season with eight games to go to bail out Joe Kinnear’s relegation-threatened team.
Shearer was keen to take the job after the Magpies were relegated into the Championship but Mike Ashley did not offer him the chance to do so despite holding talks.
Despite MOTD pundits Hanson and Lawrenson telling him "you have nothing to lose" ... it was a horror two month period that saw Shearer win just one of those eight games.
Did it damage his confidence? I think it RUINED it!
So now the GOALden Boy is happy to tell Premier League managers where they are going wrong - when he hasn't the balls to do it himself - just like the rest of the knackers on that programme - Hanson, Lawrenson, Savage and new boy Michael Owen.
Shearer told BBC Newcastle: “I love my job and know I’m lucky to have it. Could I see myself returning to management? Probably not.
“First of all, I would say I am enjoying my media work as much as ever,” Shearer said.
“But also, you have to remember I have been out of the game for over four years now.
“The longer you’re out of the game, the more difficult it is to get back in and management is not something I’m looking to do.”
You are a disappointment Mr Shearer - we expected better of you!
