According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (13/1; page 59), Derby could pull off a deal to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot on loan as Frank Lampard seemingly looks for cover for Scott Carson.
Carson has been an ever-present for the Rams this term, but it would appear that Lampard would prefer some much more experienced backup for the 33-year-old.
Kelle Roos has been on the bench for all 27 of Derby's Championship fixtures this season. But the Dutchman is still awaiting his league debut for the club and has only made a handful of cup appearances at Pride Park since arriving from Nuneaton five years ago.
The Sun reports that Lampard has his eye on Magpies stopper Elliot, with a potential loan move on his radar heading into the business end of the campaign.
However, Rafa says the goalkeeper is available ... but the club want a transfer fee.
