Rob Elliot: “The manager said ‘make sure you don’t feel like this again this season’.
“We’ll be stronger going into the next games. We’ve got to take this defeat with us, and make sure we don’t feel like this again.
“I think there were a few positives, and sometimes you learn a bit more from a defeat.
“First-half, we were under a pressure a bit.
“We defended solidly. Looking at their chances, they had a couple of long-range shots. Obviously, they charged just before half-time, and we managed to see it through that.
“We made a few changes at half-time and focused on what we had to do. I think we really got playing in the second half.
“The lads in midfield dominated, but we just couldn’t put away our chances.
“We were much better. Before the goal, I thought we were looking more likely to win it.
“I don’t know if that’s the luck they’ve got at the minute, or us being unlucky.
“I was a bit gutted – it was one of the spawniest goals you’ll see all season.
“The second-half performance was a positive, but we were gutted by that sucker punch.
“That’s just your luck sometimes. For all their good play, they scored a scrappy goal. That’s how quickly it can change at this level.
“You give a team half a chance, or half of anything, and it can be a goal. Unfortunately, the luck wasn’t with us.”
