Robbie Elliott has taken to social networking site Twitter to suggest that Newcastle United should sign Aaron Hughes in the summer transfer window.
Hughes is without a club at the moment following a brief spell at A-League outfit Melbourne City.
The 36-year-old defender was in action for Northern Ireland at the ongoing 2016 European Championship in France.
The former Newcastle man played well for his country, who reached the last-16 stage of the prestigious competition.

The Magpies will play in the Championship next season following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Elliott played with Hughes at Newcastle, and he believes that the former Aston Villa and Fulham defender would be a good signing for Rafael Benitez’s side.
