Emre Mistake Brings Turkey Defeat!

Turkey continued their preparations for Euro 2008 with a friendly defeat to Uruguay in Bochum on Sunday evening.

Emre, who has spent almost all of the season injured at Newcastle (but always available to play for his country), is said to be on his way from Newcastle in the summer.

Fatih Terim's team twice took the lead but were twice pegged back by Luiz Suarez goals before Christian Rodriguez earned the South Americans the victory.

12 minutes from time, Suárez capitalised on a mistake by Gökhan Zan to score his second and in the 85th minute won another penalty with Emre the guilty party

Turkey face Portugal, Czech Republic and Switzerland in Group A. Their warm-up friendlies conclude with a clash against Finland on Thursday.
