Adam Armstrong has been called up to the England Under 20 squad for their upcoming fixtures against The Netherlands, Germany and the United States.
Armstrong has quickly made himself at home at Oakwell, scoring twice since joining on loan from Newcastle United.
The 19-year-old has played a crucial part in the Reds’ attacking plans, surging forward with his blistering speed and creating openings for his teammates to charge into.
His first goal for the club came against Preston North End in a 2-1 success, where he expertly spun inside Alex Baptiste and caressed the ball into the far corner of the goal.
His second goal came two matches later against Reading, netting a spectacular consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat to the Royals, volleying home from the edge of the area.
England begin their run of matches against The Netherlands on Wednesday, October 5, before moving on to face Germany at Huddersfield Town on Friday, October 7.
The final game will see England take on the United States at Rochdale Football Club on Monday, October 10.
The 19-year-old has progressed through the ranks with England, representing them at every level from Under 16s.
In 37 appearances for the England youth sides, Armstrong has scored 23 goals.
