England Calls for Dyer, JJ and Butt

Kieron Dyer, Jermaine Jenas and Nicky Butt have received call ups to the full England squad for the World Cup Qualifiers against Austria and Poland. Just rewards for Nicky Butt who has been outstanding for Newcastle so far this season, Jermaine Jenas has been showing signs of returning to the form that won him the Young Player of the Year award 2 seasons ago. But just how Dyer has managed to stay in the squad after his performances this season combined with the fact he wasn’t included in the 16 for the trip to Villa, not good enough for your club but good enough for England seems to be the message.
Other interesting news is that fact that Wayne Rooney has not been included in the squad due to his foot injury, this would seem to raise doubts over whether he could pass a medical to move to either Newcastle or Manchester over the coming days.
Other notable inclusions in the squad are Shaun Wright-Phillips who gets another chance to impress and Alan Smith and Jermaine Defoe picked ahead of Emile Heskey who isn’t included.
