Jose Enrique has launched a scathing attack on the club's transfer policy.
The Spaniard, who has been linked with a move away from St James' Park for the majority of this summer, accused Mike Ashley of a lack of ambition and also claims he had been offered no improvement on his current salary.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said in May that the club would make Enrique a "fantastic" contract offer.
The 25-year-old has a year to run on his existing deal and no progress has been made on an extension, to the club's frustration.
Enrique (on Twitter): "The club is allowing all the major players of the team to go. Seriously, do you think it is the fault of the players? Andy (Carroll), nobby (Kevin Nolan) etc etc.
"This club will never again fight to be among the top 6 again with this policy.
"I think you fans are the best and you deserve the best, not what they are doing with the club. Thanks to everyone for supporting me."
"The [sic] give the money I have already. They lie all the time. But is no for money is because they don't want spend in the club and bring quality players that's why everybody go."
Let's face it ... it's nothing we didn't know already, now is it?
We all know Mike Ashley could not give a shit about our club.
He bought the club as a fad - tried to tell us he was "never a Spurs fan" when the Wigan chairman told the media: "Ashley has been a Spurs fan all of the years I have known him".
Just one of a whole host of lies we have been told since he took over the club.
Where does Enrique go from here? I think we can safely say he has played his last Premiership game in black and white.
