... Newcastle United Football Club has become the most popular exhibition ever to be staged at the Newcastle Discovery Museum.
Newcastle United's glorious history
The club is in turmoil at the moment, but life is never dull on Tyneside.
We make the front pages of the newspapers almost as often as the back pages, and being the only club in the city ... we ALWAYS make the news.
The fact is, people of the region cannot get enough of NUFC.
The Toon Times exhibition, which opened in February and closed 5 October, drew 315,000 visitors.

By comparison, the museum claims its usual annual visitor numbers are around 410,000.
Discovery Museum and Archives manager Carolyn Ball spoke to the Chronicle: “In a museum telling the history of Tyneside, you can’t not have the story of Newcastle United because it is part and parcel of what Tyneside is about.
“It has been very much a fans’ exhibition and we will now explore how we can have a permanent presence for the club in the museum.”
