The 27-year-old midfielder left the France national team camp earlier today to finalise his future, with Tottenham making a deadline day push to sign the Frenchman.
However, Newcastle have already rejected a low initial bid from Spurs, and have made it clear that they would not accept anything less than £30m for the midfielder.
The Magpies have even agreed to accept the fee in instalments, but Tottenham have continued to dither, and according to the Chronicle, Everton have made a late bid for the midfielder.
With Tottenham dilly-dallying over the fee for Sissoko, Ronald Koeman has moved in to sign the Frenchman, and has slapped in a bid for the Frenchman in recent hours.
The amount of their bid is unclear, and Newcastle are yet to accept the offer, but Everton have made a serious play to take Sissoko to Merseyside before the transfer window slams shut tonight.
It remains to be seen whether after Everton’s bid for Sissoko, Tottenham decide to bite the bullet and agree to pay the asking price for the midfielder in the next few hours.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is also ready to keep the midfielder at the club as he is confident that the Frenchman will add a lot of value to his squad.
