New boss Ronald Koeman has refused to rule out raiding old club Southampton for summer signings - although admits it could cause problems if he did.
The 53-year-old Dutchman was keeping his cards close to his chest when asked about bolstering the Blues squad with a new goalkeeper but is understood Ajax’s Jasper Cillessen is under consideration while Newcastle United’s Tim Krul has been linked.
Southampton’s No1 Fraser Forster, currently away on international duty with England at Euro 2016, is another keeper that has been linked with following Koeman to Goodison but the ECHO has learnt that the Saints would strongly rebuff any approach.
Koeman has confirmed that with only Joel Robles in the squad after Tim Howard’s departure, he will need to add at least one senior goalkeeper ahead of next season.
