But everyone is entitled to an opinion ... even when it's dick-heads like Savage.
Personally I KNOW his team (Derby County) have as much chance of getting promoted as Peter Beardley has of knocking off Paris Hilton. But it's only an opinion.
What do Savage and Gray know - they both said Newcastle would not get promoted last season - and that shows how "on the ball" those two were!
Steve Harper: “It is very disappointing to read that.
“I have seen only one or two out of a dozen though. This club has been an easy target for too long – only in the last 12 months we have achieved success by winning the Championship and bringing that stability back to the club.
“It has put us back on a firm footing, but now it is about what we can do on the pitch.
"I think we have enough to survive this year.
“I hope so. Actually yeah, I think we do.
“Last year, people think it was easy because we won the league by ten or 11 points, but it certainly was not.
“There were tough battles week in week out and the expectation of having to win more often than not, whereas now the expectation from the outside is people thinking we are going to get turned over more often than not.
“We have a strong bunch and experience in there from various quarters across the board and hopefully that will stand us in good stead.
“Our first aim is to win enough points to stay in the Premier League, so if you are offering me enough points to stay in there you would be daft to turn it down – but that is the minimum we would be hoping for.
“We are not setting any targets other than survival, initially.”
