Looking out from his 'Goldfish Bowl', he wants Tottenham's improving results under Juande Ramos to give the England hopefuls at White Hart Lane another chance on the international stage.

Paul Robinson was dropped for Wednesday's disastrous defeat to Croatia, while Jenas, Michael Dawson and Aaron Lennon were left out of Steve McClaren's squads towards the end of his reign.

Jenas: "As the results start coming at Tottenham and we start progressing in competitions and the league, I think we'll see the natural development of players who have been left out getting themselves back into the fold.

"The players for England over the last few years have earned their place and it is up to the likes of myself, Aaron, Daws and the other lads at Spurs to push and take those places away from them.

"People have been looking closely at Robbo this year, but he is big enough and strong enough to deal with it, so I am sure he will be fine," said the 24-year-old midfielder.

"He wanted to be involved, like every player left out. He's a top keeper and I'm sure he will be fighting for his place again."

Big signing from Nottingham Forest, he was captain of the England Youth team. Midfielder who was reluctant to join Newcastle unless they gave him a guarantee of first team football. Robson promised him an opportunity ... and he took it. Won his first full England cap against Australia, and won the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2003. Cost £5m. Made skipper in 2004 when Alan Shearer was injured. Sold to Spurs in August 2005, although the club tried hard to keep him.
