'Fish Bowl' Jenas The King Of The Tacklers

The only thing that matters is the amount of times the ball goes into the net!

But we hear the usual crap from commentators looking for something new to say.

Like the classics this week in the Women's World Cup: "She struck the ball well but it went wide". You strike the ball well when it goes on target ... isn't that the object of the game?

"She shot straight at the goalkeeper, which shows she hit the ball TOO well!" Now what the hell is THAT all about? Alan Shearer found the net more often than not, but obviously it wasn't as good as those who hit the goalkeeper.

And today we read that the Sky TV anoraks have found the 'best of the best'.

Top Shooter - John Carew (Aston Villa) - 17
Top Passer - Paul Scholes (Man Utd) - 478
Top Tackler - Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham) - 31
Most Dribbles & Runs - El Hadji Diouf (Bolton) - 32
Most Crosses - El Hadji Diouf (Bolton) - 82
Most Offsides - Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) - 16
Most Fouls - John Carew (Aston Villa) - 20

And what does it tell us, apart from the fact Jermaine Jenas has got out of his fishbowl to put "the boot in"?

Absolutely bugger all!
