The Newcastle United players are back at Benton as pre-season kicks off today.
Neil Redfearn and Ben Dawson will be putting the lads through their paces, given the dreaded task of leading a bunch of players who’ve grown used to the world class talents of Rafa Benitez.
But the show must go on.
There are quite a few faces from last season that won’t be at training today. Salomon Rondon, Antonio Barreca and Kenedy won’t be back after their loan spells, while Mo Diame has sealed a move elsewhere after his contract expired.
The official club website have confirmed that four Magpies regular won’t be at training today due to their international commitments.
Fabian Schar, Miguel Almiron, Martin Dubravka and Christian Atsu have all been away playing for their country, so won’t be back at Benton today.
This was expected, however there was no mention of the anonymous Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard is reportedly on the brink of a move to Leicester, with Sky Sports claiming that he has completed a medical with the Foxes.
While a host of players aren’t back at Benton today, some old faces have returned. The likes of Jacob Murphy, Jack Colback, Dwight Gayle and Rolando Aarons have all been pictured arriving today.
