Joe Allon: “I played for Chelsea, but first and foremost I am a Newcastle United supporter – they are my club.
“Chelsea have been beaten by Sunderland and Birmingham City, and I hope it is not the game where they bounce back and hit form.
“The champions have a lot of quality.
“We are at home, where we have been poor aside from the Sunderland and Aston Villa results.
“They have been below par in the last two home games.
“Newcastle are playing at home, and Chris Hughton prepares his team better than anybody.
“The lads who played at Bolton did not want to be beaten, and they will be hurting. The team spirit is very good.
“Unfortunately, they have lost the two centre-backs, and that was borne out of frustration more than anything. In the old days, you would have got away with it, but there are so many cameras now.
“Players are scrutinised from the moment they get out of their cars at the training ground.
“If Newcastle play like they did against Sunderland and Aston Villa, Chelsea have no chance.
“When Newcastle are hot, they are hot, but when they are cold, they’re cold. They need to add some consistency.”
