But Peter Lovenkrands has decided to "call it a day" today.

Lovenkrands has called time on his playing career with immediate effect.

Dedicated to his dad

The 34-year-old Denmark international, had spent the previous two seasons with Birmingham City.

However, having been unable to find a new club following his release in the summer, Lovenkrands has decided to retire.

Apart from Rangers, he spent more time at Newcastle - making 75 appearances (in two spells) - than anywhere else.

Peter Lovenkrands (talking on Twitter): "Today I announce my retirement as a football player. I am proud of all the things I have achieved in my career.
