Freddy Looks To Root Problem

Chairman Freddy Shepherd believes the club is close to finding the root cause of its pitch battle and injury epidemic. The 'Fat One' has called in Government-approved experts to inspect the playing surfaces at their training ground and St James's Park.

Shepherd: "We have got Government-approved researchers and three separate independent assessors to do tests on all our pitches, and hopefully tell us what action is needed. Whatever it is, we will do it. We must allay the players' fears that there's something wrong."
