He said:"It’s a great achievement for me to be playing at a club like this. To see 7,000 fans at Fulham and future away games is going to be great for the team spirit.
“It will be great for us, but we need to keep them onside and we will have to do that by putting in good performances at home."
Gayle is certain to start, but Benitez is planning chances after last week's defeat at Fulham, with Mo Diame likely to come in for his debut after moving from Hull and another new signing, Ciaran Clark, also in the squad for the first time.
Benitez said:"The new players have been training all week and they are fine. Obviously we will change something in terms of the game against Fulham because we did not play as I was expecting. We will change something and they will have a chance for sure."
