All well and good. A man ready to honour his contract when a "bigger club" comes calling is indeed rare these days.
But Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan has claimed his manager will "jump ship" if he geta another similar offer from other clubs because of his disillusionment with the supporters.
Sullivan has launched another stinging attack on the Blues fans.
Sullivan: "You need a reaction when you get gates of 15,800 like against Stoke last weekend because we cannot sustain a promotion challenge on gates of 15,800.
"Maybe we've got it wrong. Maybe we should settle for being in the bottom half of the table, get relegated, let everyone in for a fiver, have no pretensions of promotion and pay players low wages.
"Let's see if that is what the public want because I just don't know what they want. People like to moan and I think if we bought David Beckham, the fans would be saying 'he's an old has been, who wants David Beckham?'
"I'm not sure who we would have to sign for the fans to say 'that's a marvellous signing.'
"I think from the manager through to the managing director and through to the players, if they get an offer, they will jump ship because it's wearing on them.
"They don't feel appreciated. We had players last year we tried to sign who would not come to Birmingham City because they don't like the crowd and the reception they get.
"I hope a Roman Abramovich number two decides to buy Birmingham. Then the fans can have a new owner with huge pockets and everyone can have smiles on their faces for about six months - and then they will moan again!"
