Sky Sports claims the 51-year old, who has also previously managed Sunderland, Sheffield United, Huddersfield Town, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City, is set to take over at KC Stadium after Nick Barmby was sacked last month.
Bruce has been heavily linked with the Tigers role over the past few weeks and it is believed that the club will make an official announcement in the next few days.
