The Ireland goalkeeper has been plagued by the problem since suffering a bowel injury away to West Ham United in September 2006, when he clashed with Marlon Harewood.He has made several come-backs but the problem refuses to go away. Twice in recent games he has been substituted at half-time.
Apparently he is still confident of avoiding surgery, but that could happen when the season ends.
