Goal Difference Means Another Point Lost For Toon!

Matt Le Tissier: "Nobody would want a Premier League without Newcastle and their goal difference of minus 26 could be crucial because they're not going to finish above anyone in the bottom half on goal difference unless they go and beat someone 5-0 or 6-0.

"And you can't see them doing that at the moment.

"It's a hell of a job for him because he can't go out and buy anyone and the players he's got there at the back have no confidence.

"There's a panic every time the ball comes anywhere near the 18-yard box, there's no composure in the back four and the midfield didn't really protect them that well; Alan Smith and Nicky Butt in the centre don't have enough pace to get near anybody.

"James Milner went off injured and he's been one of their better players this season, so Newcastle are in more than a spot of bother.

"They weren't very adventurous with just Michael Owen up front and Damien Duff floating around him. Owen barely had a kick in 90 minutes."
