Goalscorer Shearer on derby win

"It's a big three points for us, and it is a relief to get a win under our belts having lost the last three games," said Shearer.

"I said in the dressing room before the game that our season started with this match, forget about everything else that has gone on.

"I think the whole side deserves credit because we played well as a team. The lads at the back performed magnificently and every time they got past us there was always a man there to clear the danger."
