The Welsh striker limped out of the clash at home to Middlesbrough last weekend with what was thought to be a recurrence of his groin injury and it looked as though he could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
However, a scan has revealed there is no need for surgery and although he will miss this weekend's clash with his old club Newcastle he should not face too long out of the side.
Curbishley will be hoping that a return is on the cards for the home clash with Arsenal in two weeks time.

Bellamy joined Newcastle in 2001 and played 132 games for the Magpies, scoring 42 goals, before signing for Blackburn Rovers (after a spell on loan at Celtic).
His pace is his strength, and Sam Allardyce must be pleased the Welshman is not making a return to his old stomping ground this weekend.
