The 32-year-old will be a free agent in the summer, and he is yet to be offered a new contract by the Magpies.
It's hardly exclusive news ... we've known this all season ... when Alan Pardew said "Shola will probably move on in the summer".
So the message is clear - Shola goes, unless Pardew leaves the club.
Ameobi joined Newcastle's academy in 1995 before signing his first professional deal at St James' Park in 2000.
Shola Ameobi: "After the summer, my future is unclear.
"Basically, I'll do what I've always done.
"Like I've always said, I've never taken [playing for Newcastle] for granted. Every time I step on that pitch, I relish it.
"When it does finally end, it'll be a sad moment, but at the moment my focus is trying to help this club."
