Green has spent much of this season on loan at Carlisle United, and new Hull manager Jan Molby was obviously impressed by the highly rated youngster.
He is the first player Molby has signed since taking over the South Yorkshire club, they are currently favourites for the thid division championship next season.
"He's a young player who made a big impression at this level with Carlisle last year and having got that experience under his belt I'm sure he'll be even better for us in the coming season," said Jan Molby today.
"We did ask Newcastle about the possibility of doing a permanent deal but they turned that down because they rate him very highly.
"But we've got the next best thing which is having him here for a season and he's a great acquisition.
"He's young, mobile, has real pace and wants to play - in fact he can't wait for the season to start which shows how enthusiastic he is."
