The former Toon player scored his first senior goal to put Royals into a 2-1 lead at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, and he is likely to receive a hostile welcome back to the North East.
Danny Guthrie: “It will be nice to go there.
"I've played there a couple of times and it’s a harsh environment, but it’s just another game and it’s about the team.
“We need to pick ourselves up quickly as we have a big game tomorrow.
“To come out of the game against Chelsea, after playing so well for an hour, is really difficult to take.
“We put ourselves in a great position, but we have to learn from it.
“It’s always nice to score, but it’s difficult to take as you don’t find yourself 2-1 up at Chelsea very often and unfortunately we let it go.
“It has to be a learning experience and we have to learn to see a game out.
“We gave Chelsea a right good game and could have even been 3-1 up at half time. We could have sat back, but we put ourselves about and broke well - we gave them a fright.”
