Aston Villa fans gave their verdict on the 6-0 defeat at St James' Park, saying THEIR team were not up for it - just like the Newcastle side that saw out a 1-0 defeat in the last game of the season that saw us relegated.
Yes Villa fans ... we know exactly what it's like.
Here's what they had to say.
1) TONY, Solihull:
THOSE individuals who masquerade as Aston Villa professional footballers should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves after that non-display against Newcastle.
They should all donate their ridiculous wages to charities and the club should refund all of the loyal fans who travelled to the North-east.
In 40 years of following Villa I don’t think I’ve ever felt so disgusted as I have with this past year (forget the cup final and semi-final, we didn’t win anything) – 7-1 against Chelsea and now this debacle.
I think my love affair with AVFC is sadly coming to an end. Richard Dunne should be sold tomorrow.
2) D RYAN, St Paul’s Square:
I cannot believe what I saw at Newcastle. What a gutless shower.
No wonder Martin O’Neill took the chicken’s way out and left us in the lurch because he knew we are on the slide and would never do what we did last season.
It was bad enough losing 7-1 at Chelsea but this. To a bunch of average Championship players. Unbelievable.
3) K ROGERS, Solihull:
It's no good just blaming MacDonald, the players are the ones who should be held accountable for that disgraceful result at Newcastle.
They were simply awful and should donate their week’s wages to a charity as they certainly didn’t earn them.
They have embarrassed the club.
4) P BUNDY, Hall Green:
The Newcastle result was a total embarrassment, we simply didn’t have a clue.
We lack a true leader, as Stiliyan Petrov is a joke.
5) R BANKS, Shropshire:
That was the most incompetent and embarrasing performance I have seen in 45 years from a Villa side.
They are not fit to wear the shirt but that will not worry them when they see their bank statement at the end of the month.
