Chris Hughton: "It's nice to have Marlon available but I'd have no qualms recalling Nile Ranger or Andy Carroll.
“Nile is a young man learning his trade.
“I almost don’t want to say he has been thrown in at the deep end because he will say he is ready.
“He had a very good season last season in the reserves and had a part to play in the first team as well, and this is a wonderful learning curve for him.
“It gives us very good options up front.
“Andy is a very good young player.
“He is a player who has been around the squad for the last couple of seasons.
“We would still regard him as a young player, but he would say he is a little bit more experienced than that.
“But Andy will certainly be around the first-team squad and you know when he plays, he has a presence that will always enable him to score goals.
“That’s the quality he brings to the team.
“Nile came in and did very well for the period of time that he played.
“There was quite a big responsibility on him as a young man, but generally the younger players tend to take it a little bit more in their stride.
“It’s new and it’s fresh for them and you would like to think they are full of enthusiasm, so I don’t think there’s any extra pressure on him.”
