Harper (talking to the Chronicle): “It was a long journey home. If we played in the first half like we did in the second, we wouldn’t be wondering what might have been.

“We’re second now on goal difference and in the last three games it has been a case of what if?

“It’s all a case of where we might have been.

“We can only look forward to Scunthorpe tomorrow night now, there is no point in looking back.

“We’re positive. Saturday night has gone and it’s disappointing.

“I wish I could explain the difference between the two halves against Nottingham, but I can’t explain them.

“What I know is we must start at Scunthorpe the same way that we finished at the City Ground.

“The first half wasn’t good enough and the second we dominated without creating a clear-cut chance.

“I can’t remember their goalkeeper making a real save – they just got some fantastic blocks in.

“It was all set up for us. Nottingham is a Premier League stadium, we had a full house and we had watched DVDs on how they like to play little balls down the side.

“It was disappointing for us.

“Ideally in games where you only play for 45 minutes you come away not having lost.

“We didn’t play great in our last two home games but came away with a point.

“In the first half we were fortunate it was only 1-0 but the second we were unlucky not to have got back in the game.”
