The Frenchman has struggled to come to terms with the worst winter in twenty years, and with snow forecast for Saturday, perhaps we should not expect the best out of him.

“I know in France the fans are very crazy.
“They make a lot of noise and do not make you feel so welcome in away games.
“Newcastle United seem to take so many fans with them to away games.
“I am fascinated by how many there are at the games here.”
